Defiant MPS Indicator Range
Below is a large range of functional, tested to death Indicators, some design's with decades of proven use, and always been made from the very best materials possible. Some are better than others in certain circumstances/situations but all are fully interchangeable
There's also a huge range of Mag Head sizes & colours to choose from, in both MKI and MKII variants. Some Mag Head versions are more suited to some Indicators more than others, all can be fitted - with only a small surcharge added if you was to want "Glow Mags" fitted.
~ All use exactly the same original Quick Release Bracket and fitting, that allows 360 degree's of instant rotation so aligning the Indicator is instant, also instant fitment and release of the Indicator, at the Head end
- all use the same British standard 2BA threaded stud and O Ring arrangement.
~ Designed so nothing protrudes around the Alarm area, this is critical if you do any slackline fishing - if there's anything for the line to catch on it will, causing a proper disaster in the process (I've seen it happen!)

Thumb Screw to lock the Mounting/Mag Head assembly if desired
The Multi-Role Indicator
Something totally different that came about by mistake rather then intentionally being designed, a bit of a mongrel from combining the old Warlock Swinger with the Rail Indicator. It swings up and down in a fixed arc of movement just like the Warlock did and when set at it's lowest position becomes weightless (Ideal for Slacklining)
But instead of having a sliding weight the sliding weight is now the mounting for the Bobbin, a 32x20mm MKI Mag Head in the example shown. This allows the Head to be positioned anywhere along the length of the solid Titanium Arm, and left free-flowing OR locked in position via the micro Thumb Screw in the base of the mounting.
There is no right way or wrong way of setting - just a mass of variable options when you combine all the permutations.
A few notes:
1. If you set the Arm at it's lowest position with the Head free-flowing not locked say midway along the arm, pretty much weightless, if you get a drop back the Head will drop downwards along the arm, but if you get a forward take it won't go upwards, as its much easier for the Arm to move upwards in it's arc of movement as that's the direction of the movement being applied (This explains to a tee why the old Monkey Climbers were so functionally useless)
2. Because you are now setting the Weight and Head as a complete unit this has far more effect than any Sliding Weight ever did, as your utilising the Arm as a "Weight" as well (Bit like trying to hold a Snooker Que by the Tip end horizontally) Using Digi Scales - set fully towards the Alarm side = 3 oz+ , set the other direction as you would with a Sliding Weight = 0 oz , the scales lowest increment being 1 ounce, obviously weighing less than 1 ounce it that position, hell for all those years I was over rating the Sliding weights on Warlocks - it seems they were pretty useless!
The Head/Mounting does not have to be locked in position either it can be just positioned free- flowing, opening up another multitude of setting options!

The Merlin Indicator
The Merlin Indicators Stainless Steel Flexi Arm can only be described as having a movement like "fluid" it's that supple, only putting a slight bit of tension on the line (very similar to a standard Banshee)
Also just like the Banshee is totally windproof, only in a howling gale when your Rods are being lifted out of the Alarms might you get a false bleep.

A Twitcher fitted with a 38 x 1/2" MKII Type Fluro Orange Mag Head

A Twitcher set under Tension
The " Twitcher"
I was gutted when I had to stop making the Twitcher Indicator (So were many customers) but there was no option – the precision German made parts I used had been shipped to China to cut costs, and the result were a utter pile of crap! I totally refused to use them, but as seems to be the case in many situations these days the good old yanks came to the rescue- I’ve managed to source a quality American made alternative.
The “Twitcher” is back and even better than the original version, it’s now fitted with solid Titanium fittings and 5” Arm, being Titanium it weighs a mere 10 grams.
Just like the original the arm has a limited arc of movement up and down – when dropped to its lower position it stop and becomes totally weightless, ideal for slack lining.
The Titanium Arm is not rigid thou, a section incorporates a unique Stainless Steel flexible spring section that ONLY comes into operation once the Arm passes a set position in its arc of movement adding more and more tension the further it moves till the line pings out of the Mag Head.
Ideally fitted with a 32mm x ½” MKI Mag Head so as to not load the arm with access weight for no reason, with the arm being spring loaded – if you wish to add tension just position so the spring is coming into play.

The Hawk Hanger
The Hawk Hanger is a basic chain type Hanger that I've been making for near on 20 years now and in that time not one has ever snapped, corroded or been returned with a fault. The reason why is simple, as with all MPS Indicators only the very best materials are ever used. The Stainless Steel Chain used in the Hawk's is the very best money can buy, it's of a welded Link construction, it's impossible to snap it even thou it's still has a narrow gauge
There is no set length - they can be made any length up to 8" long (Raw Chain length) for no extra cost
Hawks can be fitted with any Mag Head in the range you wish

The Banshee Hanger
It got its name way back in autumn 2003 on the very first time on the bank, it was a very stormy night with the wind howling like a "Banshee", tree's making cracking noises as they swayed almost to breaking point in the powerful gale. It was instantly noted that my Alarms were not making any "False Bleeps" even thou they were swaying about and waves hitting the lines were they entered the water. The other four on the bank were using in vogue at the time Indicators with Sink Ball Chains or the equally useless Dacron chorded ones, and their Alarms were singing their little heads off in the severe weather conditions!
The design has hardly changed from that autumn night all those years ago, I'd cracked it first time - by using a woven 316 Stainless Steel chord which when formed into a "U" shape becomes semi-ridged and in turn windproof, not just that the cord is unbreakable with a 560kg breaking strain!

Example show is fitted with a Pink 38 x 20mm MKII Mag Head
HG Banshee Hanger
Based the original Banshee, this can only be described as a brutal no mercy form of Indicator! If set just right with a Lead heavily enough to just hold bottom, when you get as bite everything happens in an instant - in most cases the lead comes flying back towards you, Rod jumps up into the air, an the clutch screams as all hell break loose, there's none of that finicky stuff - it's hooked instantly by it's own doing!
Like the standard Banshee they are also windproof and can be fitted with any Mag Head size or colour in the large range, ideally the 15 or 20mm versions as they need the stronger line clip mechanisms to cope with the strong tension.
If I was only allowed to use one of my own Indicators, the HG Banshee would be it - they are just so utterly efficient at putting fish on the bank.

Removable Internal Solid Carbon Tension Rod, via the chamber in the solid Titanium fitting
The Scorpion Hanger
The Scorpion Hanger, was the very first Indicator I invented back in the late 1990's,was (and still is) so effective once Martin Locke at Solar Tackle saw and example at a meeting a deal was struck and Solar made a version (It was called The Adjustable Quiver Lock)
Still just as efficient at putting fish on the bank as way back then, can be used as a basic Hanger or as a "Springer" when a solid Carbon tension rod is inserted into the hollow internal chamber of the Stainless Steel Flexi Chord.
~ Supplied with a medium strength solid Carbon tension Rod, reference 0.8mm is fitted as standard. But most customers like to make their own unique range of strengths to suit their own needs, Carbon Rod is readily available and also cheap - from eBay, Amazon etc.....
